b

d

a) dynamic equilibrium

The state of dynamic equilibrium is shown when cells are in an isotonic solution and there is no net flow of water.

Osmosis is the process of the movement of water molecules across a selectively permeable membrane from an area of lower solute concentration to an area of higher solute concentration. This movement occurs in order to equalize the solute concentrations on both sides of the membrane and achieve a balance. In other words, osmosis is the diffusion of water molecules through a membrane in response to a concentration gradient of solute.
