Grandfather (Robert)

Back in my day, I was a dairy farmer and the cows needed milking twice a day, seven days a week. It was tiring work, but it was satisfying and very rewarding to see what you could produce with a lot of hard work.
After working in the paddocks all day we prepared dinner and ate with the family. Most nights we just listened to the radio and talked about the day.
At the end of the week, we would meet up with all the local lads and gals and their folks at the community hall. We would dance to the popular hits of the day and enjoy a supper we would take along. It was always a terrific night and a great way to keep in touch with what was going on in the community. I also met my wife at one of those dances. Best night of my life!

This physical activity allowed him to connect with others in his community and stay active. The regular exercise from dancing helped keep him in good health and improved his overall well-being. However, there were some negative aspects of this physical activity, such as the risk of injuries or strains. Despite this, Robert felt that the benefits of staying active outweighed these risks and it was a great way to maintain his health and happiness.

Father (Peter)
As an accountant, I spend long hours in the office mostly sitting at the computer or on the phone. They are busy days and managing other people’s money can be very stressful!
Most mornings before work, I like to go down to the beach for a swim. The salt water and sunshine really makes me feel fresh and alive. It’s a great overall workout and it allows me to clear my head and relax before the work.
I also enjoy playing touch footy with my mates once a week. Even though it’s only a social competition the fast pace of the games helps me stay fit. It’s nice to be part of a team and we always have a good laugh.
On the weekend, I like to play golf with my wife. It’s a slow, steady pace which lets us chat and catch up with what’s happened during the week. I love the fresh air and all the walking is pretty good exercise as well!

However, he makes an effort to incorporate physical activity into his daily routine. Each morning before work, he goes for a swim in the ocean. This allows him to get a full body workout while also providing a therapeutic environment to help him relax. Additionally, he plays touch footy with his friends once a week. This social activity adds a fun element to staying active and helps him stay fit. On the weekends, he enjoys playing golf with his wife. While it's not the most intense physical activity, it provides a low-impact way to stay active while also spending time with family. Overall, participating in physical activity helps Peter maintain his physical health and well-being. However, he has to be careful not to overexert himself and cause physical strain or injuries. Despite this, the benefits of staying active far outweigh the risks.

Son / Teenager (Martin)
I am still at school so most of my days are spent indoors at a desk or using a computer. I play a bit of handball with my mates at lunchtime but not every day.
After school, my mum is on my case to get my homework done before I do anything else. Otherwise, I am always online playing games with friends.
Last year my mum told me I should take up a regular sport. I eventually decided to join the BMX club and now I go down there every Friday night to race. Some of the guys from school go too and we get to hang out between races. I’m not very good, but it is fun flying over the jumps and getting dirty when you skid and slide. I like talking to the other riders about race tactics, but most of all I like taking risks in the races; it feels just like playing a video game!

Write Paragraph 1 here (Martin)

Martin is my son and he spends most of his days at school either sitting at a desk or in front of a computer. He occasionally plays handball with his friends at lunchtime but is not very active during school hours. His mother encourages him to complete his homework before spending time online playing games with his friends. However, last year she suggested he join a sports club and he decided to try BMX racing. Every Friday, he attends the BMX club and races with his friends from school. This activity encourages him to be more physically active and allows him to socialize with peers of similar interests. The thrill and excitement of racing helps him take risks just like in video games, boosting his morale and improving his mental well-being. However, BMX racing can be risky and can cause physical injuries if not done safely. Yet, the benefits of regular sports participation can improve Martin's physical and mental health, and overall well-being.
