A chain poem is also called an accordion poem because when done the paper it’s written on looks like the musical instrument with the same name. It is a spontaneous poem written by a group of people. Write a line of poetry about your theme or a subtopic related to your theme. Pass the paper to someone else (the person sitting next to you). Have them write a line of poetry and pass it someone sitting next to them. Before they pass if they must fold the paper in a way that hides the line of poetry you wrote but does not hide the line they wrote. Continue these steps making sure that only the last line of poetry is visible. Be sure to take back you poem after no less than ten lines. Unfold the paper and read the poem. You may make minor changes to the poem if you wish (change misspellings, add a poetic devices, etc.).

The theme I choose is "Nature's Beauty"

Soft winds whisper secrets to the trees,
Their leaves rustle and sway as if at ease.
In the distance, a vibrant rainbow shines,
Hues of red, yellow, and blue, a sight divine.

The babbling brook rushes over rocks,
Its sound soothing like a lullaby in my thoughts.
Overhead, a flock of birds fly,
Their wings beat in unison, painting the sky.

The sun sets slowly in a golden haze,
Reflecting off the water in a warm daze.
A symphony of nature, a harmonic tune,
Nature's beauty in full bloom.

The stars sparkle, lighting up the sky,
Guiding my soul as if telling me to fly.
Nature's beauty, a wonder to behold,
The greatest story ever told.
