Alferd wegner

Alfred Wegener (1880-1930) was a German geophysicist and meteorologist who is best known for proposing the theory of continental drift. In 1912, Wegener suggested that the continents were once joined together in a single large landmass he called Pangaea, and that over time they had slowly drifted apart to their current positions. Despite encountering strong resistance from the scientific community at the time, his theories were eventually proven correct through the study of plate tectonics. Wegener also made contributions to meteorology, exploring topics such as atmospheric circulation and weather forecasting. He died during an expedition to Greenland in 1930.
