Imagine you are a paleontologist trying to find the “missing link” between different species. In three to five sentences, create a fictional narrative about your discoveries, describing: 1) what two species, mythical or real, you are studying, 2) what evidence you have linking these species, and 3) what evidence you have to define different correlations and causations that support your hypothesis.(4 points)

As a paleontologist, I have been studying the connection between two widely different species, the unicorn and the horse. Through careful excavation, I have discovered fossilized remains showing the unicorns possessing a crest-like bone structure similar to horses. The movement of the unicorn is also similar to the horse. Furthermore, the tail bone of unicorns and horses is nearly the same, thus indicating a common ancestor. These links suggest that unicorns and horses are interrelated species and that unicorns could be the "missing link" connecting to horses.
