Cenozoc era

The Cenozoic era, also known as the Age of Mammals, began about 66 million years ago and continues to the present day. It is divided into three periods: the Paleogene, Neogene, and Quaternary. During this era, mammals diversified and became the dominant land animals, replacing the dinosaurs and other large reptiles that went extinct at the end of the Mesozoic era. Humans also evolved during the Cenozoic era, with the earliest hominids appearing about 7 million years ago. Climate change and geological events, such as the collision of continents and the formation of mountain ranges, shaped the landscapes and environments during the Cenozoic era.
