An acrostic poem is a poem in which the first letter in each line vertically spells a word or phrase that is important and related to the contents of the poem. You lines cannot be single words. Instead they should be phrases or sentences. The word spelled vertically should be related to your theme. Also, be sure to use a poetic device.
