As punishment, Romeo is banished from Verona. Is this punishment fair?

Claim #2- (One reason that supports your general claim/thesis)

Is it fair to separate two innocent, young lovers who have committed no crime other than loving each other?

One reason that supports the general claim that Romeo's banishment from Verona is unfair is the fact that Romeo and Juliet had no ill intentions and committed no crime other than falling in love with each other. Their love was genuine and pure, yet they were punished severely for it. It seems harsh and unfair to banish Romeo, causing him to be separated from his beloved Juliet and his family, all because of their love for each other.
