Social media has become a significant part of the lives of today's youth, both in positive and negative ways. On the one hand, social media has given young people a platform to express themselves and connect with others around the world. It has also provided opportunities for networking and business growth. However, on the other hand, social media has created a culture of addiction and competition, leading to issues such as cyberbullying, FOMO (fear of missing out), and online harassment. The use of social media can also negatively impact mental health and self-esteem, especially if youths become too reliant on the validation received from "likes" and comments.
