There are over 700 described species of dinosaurs, although new discoveries and ongoing research continue to refine our understanding of dinosaur diversity. New species of dinosaurs are still being discovered today, although the rate of discovery has slowed down as many of the most easily accessible deposits have already been explored. However, new discoveries are still made occasionally, particularly in remote regions or in areas where new excavations are being carried out.
