For my science homework this weekend, I have to write a paper on how crystals absorb and focus the etheric energies of the sun and how they can be used by adepts for the good of mankind. I am having trouble finding scientific information on this topic - can someone help me out in my research?

I know what etheric and adepts mean, but in the context here it doesn't make much sense. It almost sounds like something out of the Superman movie. Can you rephase your topic, so I can help you find sources?

I'm not sure that I can adequately rephrase the topic, because I don't fully understand it myself. Our teacher wants us to discuss the ways in which crystals can be used to focus the sun's energies, and some of the practical applications for such 'technology.' In other words, how can 'focusing crystals' be used to benefit people in a practical, concrete way?
Well, silicon is a crystal, so photocells is one way. You can find many references on that. That is a very practical aspect of technology.
Another way is to use suns rays to change light filters, such as light adaptable sunglasses (crystals react with sunlight to align and block that light).
Another way is to focus light on a single point, and use that focused light to create a heat source for a turbine (solar mirrors do this now).
There has been some research in focusing Xrays. Search Google on "focusing crystal"
