Experimental investigation

Experimental investigation refers to a research method whereby a researcher systematically manipulates one or more variables in a controlled environment and observes the effects on other variables. The purpose of an experimental investigation is to identify cause-effect relationships between variables in order to test hypotheses and make predictions about future outcomes. The experiment is designed to minimize extraneous variables that may interfere with the relationship between the variables being studied. Experimental investigations are often conducted in laboratory settings where a researcher can control the variables under observation. This method is widely used in many disciplines, including psychology, biology, chemistry, and physics, among others. The results of experimental investigations are published in scientific literature to help advance knowledge in the chosen field.
