Stopped Germany's 1918 offense before American forces arrived

The 1918 German Spring Offensive, also known as Operation Michael, was a series of coordinated attacks launched by the German army along the Western Front during World War I. The offensive began on March 21, 1918, and was aimed at achieving a swift victory before the arrival of American forces.

However, the German advance was halted by the Allied forces before the Americans arrived. The British forces, along with soldiers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa, launched a counteroffensive and managed to push back the Germans. The French army also launched a successful counterattack against the Germans, compelling them to retreat.

The American soldiers did participate in the later stages of the conflict, but they arrived too late to play a significant role in stopping the German offensive. The Allied victory in the defense against the German Spring Offensive, along with the arrival of fresh American troops later in the year, marked a turning point in the war, leading to the eventual defeat of Germany.
