Compare lamarck and Darwin beliefs
Lamarck and Darwin had different beliefs on inheritance and evolution. Lamarck believed in the inheritance of acquired traits, which means that organisms can pass down traits that they acquired during their lifetime to their offspring. He believed that organisms could modify their behaviors to adapt to their environment and that these modifications could be passed down to future generations.
On the other hand, Darwin did not believe in the inheritance of acquired traits. He proposed the theory of natural selection, which explains how certain traits that are advantageous for survival and reproduction are more likely to be passed down to future generations.
Both Lamarck and Darwin believed in the idea of evolution, however, Darwin's theory of natural selection gained wider acceptance due to its scientific rigor and the overwhelming evidence that supports it.
