Imagine you are a paleontologist trying to find the "missing link" between different species. In three to five sentences, create a fictional narrative about your discoveries, describing: 1) what two species, mythical or real, you are studying, 2) what evidence you have linking these species, and 3) what evidence you have to define different correlations and causations that support your hypothesis. As a paleontologist, I'm studying the mythical Mermaid and erectus in search of the "missing link." I have discovered a set of footprints, which show the characteristics of both species, and have found specific fossils that perfectly fit in evolutionary lineage. Furthermore, I have been able to conclude that the Mermaids had to have evolved from erectus, because of the similarities in the bones and features of the two species. Finally, through studying the differences in life characteristics between erectus and Mermaid, I have been able to determine a natural progression and pathway between the two species.
