A non-renewable resource is a natural resource that cannot be produced, regenerated or replenished in a short period of time. Examples of non-renewable resources include fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas, as well as minerals and metals like copper, iron, and gold. Once these resources are consumed or extracted from the earth, they are no longer available for future use.
