Henry Stanley?

Henry Stanley (1841-1904) was a Welsh journalist, explorer and adventurer who is best known for his exploration of central Africa and his search for the missing Scottish missionary and explorer David Livingstone. In 1871, Stanley set out on an expedition to find Livingstone who had not been heard from in several years. After a difficult journey, Stanley finally located Livingstone in Tanzania and famously greeted him with the words "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?". Stanley then continued to explore Africa and mapped out large parts of the continent, including the Congo River, which he navigated from the interior to the sea. He later became a proponent of European colonization of Africa and was involved in the establishment of the Congo Free State.
