why do people seek reform

There are many reasons why people seek reform, including a desire for increased fairness or justice, a desire to improve living standards or working conditions for workers, a desire to address social or economic inequalities, a desire to improve education or healthcare systems, a desire to protect the environment, or a desire to address political corruption or abuses of power. In Kansas state history, there have been many instances in which various groups or individuals sought reform for one or more of these reasons, including during the Populist movement of the late 19th-century, the labor movements of the early 20th-century, and the Civil Rights movement of the mid-20th century.
