2. Electromagnets are preferred in the real world over permanent magnets because their magnetic field can be turned on and off, allowing for greater control. This makes them useful in a variety of applications such as electric motors, generators, and magnetic levitation trains. Additionally, the strength of an electromagnet can be adjusted by changing the amount of current flowing through it, allowing for flexibility in its use. Permanent magnets, on the other hand, have a fixed magnetic field and are limited in their applications.
