A force acting on an object does NO work if:

a
the force is greater than the force of friction
b
a machine is used to move the object
c
the object accelerates
d
the force is not in the direction of the object's motion

D - The force is not in the direction of the object's motion. Work is only done when a force causes an object to move in the same direction as the force applied. If the force is perpendicular or opposite to the direction of motion, no work is done.
