Where do we find PFAS chemicals in everyday goods? Name at least 3 different uses.

PFAS chemicals (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) can be found in a wide range of everyday goods. Here are 3 examples:

1) Non-stick cookware: PFAS chemicals are commonly used in non-stick coatings on pots, pans, and other cookware to make them water-resistant and non-stick.

2) Stain-resistant fabrics: PFAS chemicals are often used in clothing, upholstery, and carpeting to make them resistant to stains and water.

3) Firefighting foam: PFAS chemicals are commonly used in firefighting foam because of their ability to extinguish liquid fires. However, the use of this foam can lead to PFAS contamination of soil and water.
