I have to creat a kids book of about 15 pages or more that tells the story of Jacques Cartier, Samuel de Champlain, or Life in New France. It has to be written nice and simple with awesome drawings for kids! But, I must tell the whole story.

This is very difficult for me. I don't know how to do it/start it.

Which one would be easier?

Any help is appreciated.

For me, writing about either Cartier or Champlain would be easier than Life in New France.

I would include lots of hand drawn maps showing where they traveled as well as pictures of what they did and how they traveled.

I would do Champlain go to this website it could be very helpful enchanted learning it gives a step by step of what Champlain did. He would be the easyist to do and the pictures would be simple to create. Good luck with your project!!

Can anyone suggest some resources, websites that would help?

Thanks

Creating a children's book about Jacques Cartier, Samuel de Champlain, or Life in New France can be a fun and educational project. While it may seem daunting at first, with a little planning and creativity, you can certainly create an engaging and informative book.

To get started, here are some steps you can follow:

1. Research: Begin by gathering information about your chosen topic. Read books, articles, or websites to understand the life, achievements, and significant events related to Jacques Cartier, Samuel de Champlain, or Life in New France. Take notes of the main points that you want to include in your book.

2. Outline: Once you have collected enough information, create an outline for your book. Decide which events or aspects you want to cover and in what order. Remember, for a children's book, it is essential to keep it simple and organized.

3. Writing: Start writing the story using simple language that children can easily understand. Divide the story into pages or sections, making sure to explain key events or concepts clearly. You can also add dialogue, descriptive language, or little anecdotes to make the story more engaging.

4. Illustrations: Children's books are incomplete without appealing illustrations. If you have drawing skills, you can create your own artwork using bright colors and attractive characters. Alternatively, you can collaborate with an illustrator or make use of digital tools such as Canva or Adobe Illustrator to create visually pleasing illustrations.

5. Editing and Proofreading: Once you have written and illustrated your book, go through it several times for editing and proofreading. Check for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. Also, make sure the text is age-appropriate, concise, and flows well.

6. Book Design: Decide on the layout of your book, including the font, size, and placement of text and illustrations. You can use software like Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, or even online platforms like Canva to design your book's layout.

7. Printing and Binding: Finally, consider how you will print and bind your book. You can choose to print it at home or use online or local printing services. There are also options for binding, such as comb binding, spiral binding, or even creating a digital e-book.

Regarding which topic would be easier, it depends on your personal interest and the resources available to you. Consider researching each topic to determine which one you have more information and enthusiasm for. Whichever topic you choose, remember to simplify the story and make it engaging for children.

Good luck with your project, and I hope this helps you get started on creating your amazing children's book!
