An earth tag washer, also known as an earth bonding washer or a ground tag, is a specially designed washer used in electrical installations to ensure that metal components of the installation are grounded properly. A typical earth tag washer has a circular metal body with a hole in the center for a screw to pass through. One end of the washer is curved while the other has a tag-like extension from which wires can be attached. When the washer is installed, the screw passes through the hole in the center and the curved end of the washer compresses against the metal component of the installation to provide a reliable electrical connection. The wire can then be attached to the tag and connected to the earthing system to ensure that the metal component is effectively grounded.
