Chapter 15 of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is titled "The Forbidden Forest". In this chapter, Harry and his friends decide to follow Draco Malfoy into the Forbidden Forest, despite warnings from Hagrid and others not to venture there. In the forest, they encounter a number of dangerous creatures, including a giant spider named Aragog, who informs them that Hagrid was innocent in the opening of the Chamber of Secrets. They also discover that Voldemort is planning to steal the Philosopher's Stone, which leads Harry and his friends to rush back to Hogwarts to try and stop him.
