Glycolysis is the metabolic pathway that breaks down glucose into two molecules of pyruvate through a series of enzymatic reactions. The process of glycolysis also produces two molecules of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and two molecules of NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide).
