What types of political or economic ($) situations do you think caused countries to look toward fascist governments? Do you think Germany taking most of the punishment for WWI helped lead to this type of government?

The rise of fascism in Europe was largely due to the economic and political instability caused by the Great Depression and the aftermath of World War I. The Treaty of Versailles, which imposed harsh reparations on Germany, caused a great deal of economic hardship and resentment in the country, which helped to fuel the rise of the Nazi Party. Additionally, the Great Depression caused economic hardship in many countries, leading to a sense of desperation and a desire for strong leadership. This, combined with the rise of nationalism and anti-Semitism, helped to create an environment in which fascist governments could thrive.
