The body's reaction to information is sent to the brain through neurons. Neurons are specialized cells that transmit electrical signals, known as impulses, throughout the body. These impulses travel along the dendrites, which are the branches of a neuron, and eventually reach a synapse, which is a small gap between neurons. At the synapse, the electrical impulse is converted into a chemical signal and transmitted to the next neuron, allowing the information to ultimately reach the brain.
