In the Community the lighter of two twins is released (killed) and then disposed of down a trash chute. I disagree with this method because it is inhumane and absolutely terrible to kill a living breathing child simply because they are a twin. I experienced distress, sadness, horror, and anger when I read the chapter for the first time. A better and less horrible solution to this would be to take the lighter twin to another community just as Lily thought happened. They would take the lighter child to a community that their current community never visits so that it would not be confusing. That way they would never know they were twins and they could both live their boring repetitive and emotionless lives without being injected in the head with poison.
