Jesus gave His disciples permission to flee from persecution if circumstances allowed. He gave them this permission because He said, “When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next.” (Matthew 10:23). Jesus was teaching His disciples that they should not stay in a place where they were being persecuted, but instead should move on to a place where they would be safe.
