Student response:
In this course we have learned about many foods from around the Spanish speaking world, such as mbejú, bife koygua, bori bori, caldo de choclo, carapulcra, cau cau, asados, and milanesas. Many of these foods sound awfully appetizing… but I - for the better or for the worse - am not one to try new things; I don't like spicy foods, meat, or desserts made with strange ingredients. However, I would try arroz con leche, kamaby arró, and milanesas. I would try the rice desserts because it reminds me of bouillie, which is a French dish that is a kind of porridge or gruel made of rice, lemons, and peanut butter. And milanesas just don't sound half bad.

Reply: I completely understand not wanting to try new things, especially when it comes to food! I think it's great that you are willing to try arroz con leche, kamaby arró, and milanesas. I think it's really interesting that you compare arroz con leche to bouillie, a French dish. Have you ever tried bouillie before? I'm curious to know what it tastes like!
