The Fennec Fox is a small fox native to the Sahara Desert. It has large ears, which help it to dissipate heat and keep cool in the hot desert environment. Its fur is pale cream in color, and its feet are covered in fur to protect them from the hot sand. It has adapted to its environment by becoming nocturnal, and by having a diet that consists mainly of insects, small mammals, and plants. It is also able to go long periods of time without water, and can survive in temperatures up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
