One interesting and unexpected phenomenon that we noticed while collecting data for the pulse rate laboratory was that the pulse rate of the participants seemed to increase when they were asked to perform a physical activity, such as running in place or jumping jacks. This was unexpected because we had expected the pulse rate to decrease with physical activity.
