Hello guys. I need the answers to these questions.
1. Can squirrels get rabies?
2. What is the lifespan of a squirrel?
3. Can squirrels be domesticated?
4. Do squirrels hibernate?
5. What is it called when a squirrel lays on its belly?
6. Can squirrels eat peaches?
7. Do squirrels like humans?
I know these are easy and yes i know the answers but i wanted to see how much you guys know squirrels. I personally love squirrels and try to know as much as i can about them.

1. Yes, but as a small mammal, their risk is very small
2. Lifespans do vary quite dramatically between different species of squirrels. However, females tend to live longer than males, and squirrels in captivity live longer (obviously), with lifespans around 20 years. Some squirrels have lived to be 24 years old.
3. Yes, they can be domesticated, but itโs generally not a good idea and can be quite difficult to do so.
4. No, squirrels donโt really hibernate. However, their behavior indicates that they do prepare for a long winter.
5. When a squirrel lays on its stomach, it is called โsplootingโ.
6. Yes, squirrels are very enthusiastic about peaches.
7. Squirrels may approach a human out of curiosity, but might run away if the human startles them due to fear/being shy. Squirrels are generally timid creatures.
I think itโs very sweet that you try to find out as much as you can about squirrels! Iโm the same way, but for cats. I know these answers are somewhat late, so you may not see them, but I had fun answering your questions ๐ Have a lovely day!

I am also a bit of a cat nerd and I love learning about them more and more as I want to be a veterinarian someday.
