Sloths live in Central and South America because the tropical rainforest climate of the region provides them with the ideal environment for their slow-paced lifestyle. The warm, humid climate allows them to conserve energy and the abundance of trees and vegetation provide them with plenty of food and shelter. Sloths also have few natural predators in the region, making it a safe place for them to live.
