20000 years ago, North America was much different than it is today. The continent was covered in thick ice sheets, and the climate was much colder. The land was mostly tundra and boreal forests, with some areas of grassland and desert. The land bridge between Alaska and Siberia was still intact, allowing humans and animals to migrate between the two continents.
