Term 1 - Ratios, Rates, and Proportions. Lesson 2 - Unit rates and Proportional reasoning. Quick check. 7th grade.

(If this isn't your grade or lesson, please don't get mad at me when I dont have the answers you want.)
(And please correct me if I am wrong about something. Should be noted, that i'm not a professional.)

1. A box of crackers has 24 grams of fat. The box contains 8 servings. What is the unit rate?

D. 3 grams of fat per serving

-Explanation-
(You get this answer by taking 8 and dividing it by 24.
8, 16, 24. Then you get the answer 3.)

2. A 16 fl-oz bottle of juice costs 2.00. What is the unit cost?

B. 0.125/fl oz

-Explanation-
(The "/" between the number and the metric unit is to indicate "per"
So every fl-oz equals 0.125. So you can take that and multiply it by
16. So next time you see this question you can divide or multiply
to get your answer)

3. Cheese costs 4.50 per pounds. How much does 3 pounds of cheese cost?

D. 13.50

-Explanation-
(I guess it pretty self explanatory. You take 4.50 and multiply it by 3.)

4. Which of the following has the lowest unit price?

C. 24 lb for 18.72

-Explanation-
(You can get this answer by doing an evaluation process.
D. 22 for 18.70. (You get 2 more lbs for only 2 more cents.)
B. 26 for 23.40. (You get a near amount for way less.)
A. This one would be hard to tell but the unit price is 0.81
while C's choice is 0.78.
If you want to do this the way you are meant to, just divide
the price by how much you get. Example: 16.20/20=0.81.)

I hope this gave you a better understanding as to why these are the answers.
I don't like seeing people hand out answers without a simple explanation in order
to help you improve the slightest. It is okay to use this website though, I do not mind.
