It is impossible to accurately estimate the number of earthquakes that have occurred on the San Andreas Fault since it is a very long fault line that has been active for millions of years. However, the USGS estimates that there are about 10,000 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater on the San Andreas Fault each year.
