How to measure abdominal pain?

Abdominal pain can be measured using a numerical rating scale (NRS) or a visual analog scale (VAS). The NRS is a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 being no pain and 10 being the worst pain imaginable. The VAS is a line with two endpoints, one labeled "no pain" and the other labeled "worst pain imaginable." The patient is asked to mark a point on the line that corresponds to their current level of pain.
