A student read the following paragraph.

Many individuals do not believe that their increased Internet usage holds any negative effects on their lives. However, as everyone's use of technology increases, studies have shown that there are detrimental effects. For example, a deterioration of social functioning and values has been observed. The Internet is starting to replace the true face–to–face interaction we have with words exchanged over a computer screen. Dr. Elizabeth Engleberg believes people with high Internet usage are more likely to be lonesome and have a poor work life balance than those with low Internet usage. She also discovered that people who spend a lot of time online scored lower on scales of emotional intelligence and social skills. The Internet stops people from acquiring skills they need to interact with others in daily life. Individuals can use the Internet as a tool for their creative and intellectual work; however, it can also take away from homework, and spending time with family and friends. It is intensifying the negative effect that television already had on our social skills.

Based on the information in the paragraph, which of these statements could help support the argument that it is difficult for individuals to extensively use the Internet without it affecting them negatively? Select all that apply.
A.
Essentially, all Internet searches lead individuals to be bombarded with information that may not be relevant, true, or safe.
B.
Studies have been conducted that showed that 43% of dropouts come from staying up all night on the Internet.
C.
The Internet provides individuals with alluring research and communicative capacities that encourage intellectual development.
D.
The creation of the Internet was a life-changing advancement that has opened up endless possibilities.
