A 7 metre ladder rests against a wall and makes an angle of 30° with the ground. How far up the wall does the ladder reach?

opposites, adjacents, and hypotenuse
you are given the hypotenuse and the base angle, have to find the opposite
trig ratio involving opposite and hypotenuse is sine
sin30° = opposite/7
opposite = 7sin30 = 3.5 m
