Write the slope-intercept equation of the function f whose graph satisfies the given conditions. The graph of f passes (-8,8) through and is perpendicular to the line that has an x-intercept of 3 and a y-intercept of "-6."

for the 2nd line

x-intercept of 3 ----> point (3,0)
y-intercept of -6 ---> point (0,-6)
slope of 2nd line = (0+6)/(3-0) = 2

so the slope of the the required line is -1/2 and its equation must be
y = (-1/2)x + b
but (-8, 8) is supposed to be on it, so
8 = (-1/2)(-8) + b
b = 4

new equation: y = (-1/2)x + 4
