A sample of chlorine gas (Cl2) occupies 180 mL at -5°C. This gas doubles in volume (with no changes in pressure or amount). What is the new temperature in degrees Celsius?

V1 = 180 mL

V2 = doubled; i.e. 2*180 = 360 mL
T1 = -5 C or 273 - 5 = ? K
T2 = ? in Kelvin.
Use = (V1/T1) = (V2/T2) and solve for T2 ( in Kelvin).
Convert K to C by K = 273 + C and solve for C.
