Henry had some jackfruits. He gave 50% of his jackfruits to Iris. Iris then gave half of her mangoes to Henry. Henry sold 11 jackfruits and Iris sold 126 mangoes. In the end, the ratio of the jackfruits to mangoes for Henry and Iris is 1:4 and 1:2 respectively. How many jackfruits did Henry have at first?

Given: jackfruits and mangoes with

Henry and Iris.
To find: jackfruits Henry had at first.
Solution:
Let it be x, and mangoes
with Iris be y, then.
mangoes with Henry
= y/2
Jackfruits = x/2 - 11
Iris:
jackfruits = x/2
mangoes = y/2 - 126

∴ x/2-11/y/2 = 1/4 v> 2x x 44 = y/2.
x/2/y/2-126 = 1/2 => x = y/2 - 126
∴ 2x - 44 = x + 126
=> x = 126 + 44 = 170.
