thank you for your help before. I understand the first 2 examples, but the last 2 (c and d) i don't get because the f is outside the parantheses. Can you explain again please and sorry. I asked my parents but they said it was 40 years ago and they don't remember...lol thank you

given f(x)=3-2x and g(x)=sqrt x
find:
a) (f + g) (x)
b) (fg)(x)
c) f(g) (x)) and state its domain
d) f(g(5))

f(g(x)) just means f(g), sometimes written (f◦g)(x)

since f(x)=3-2x, f(g) = 3-2g = 3-2√x
f(g(5)) = 3-2√5
or, since g(5) = √5, f(g(5)) = f(√5) = 3-2√5
the domain of √x is of course, x >= 0

I get it! thank you so much!
