when someone is under peer pressure,they are forced or persuaded or dont want to be left behind or want to prove they can be part of the gang/It is used under depression,like parent breakup,divorce,school etc/some teenagers use it during their experiment stage

So as you know I mentioned depression and parent divorce ,and this leads to worse things which is gang abuse.Many teens who come from violent backgrounds and suffer from severe emotional instability join gangs to have a sense of belonging. The members of the gangs often provide a sense of family that gang members do not receive from their parents or their community. In order to belong to a gang, new members may have to go through initiation rites, a process whereby a new member has to perform a set task. New gang members can be beaten by other gang members or made to or kill a person to prove their loyalty to the gang. If a gang member considers leaving the gang, other gang members may severely harm or even kill that person, or members of his or her family.
Gangsters earn money in various ways, but most of their money comes from the drug trade. Many of the gang members are drug users themselves. Their need for money to support their drug habit often leads them to crime.
These are also some factors
• an unstable family background
• peer pressure (being in the "wrong crowd")
• community
• lack of supervision
• availability of harmful substances
• trauma and stress
• exposure to substance abuse, whether by family or peers
