im currently trying to find what "x" is in CuS04 xH20.

I have found the moles of Cu2+ after diluting it in 250.0mL volumetric flask = 0.01744 moles of Cu2+. Now it is asking me to "find mass of CuSO4 in original weighed sample (not mass of CuSO4 xH20- you will need to calculate from the number of moles in Cu2+ in the 250 ml volumetric flask." How do I do that?

I can help you better if you copy and post the problem exactly as it appears in your work. As it is I have no idea exactly where the problem is going. However, the answer to the problem you have asked is

0.01744 mols Cu^2+ * (molar mass CuSO4/molar mass Cu) = ? That will give you the mols CuSO4 in the 250 mL volumetric flask.
