I use the subtitute method but why aren't my answers match the answer key? Can you show I how you would do it to get the answer key answers?

Fe=0.84804 Fb/0.99233 = Fe=0.84048
Fb0.12360(.8546) - 0.52992 Fb = -50 = Fb=(-50-.1056)/-.52992 = Fb=94.6
Fe=0.8404(94.6)=73.5

Can somone show I how to get to the answer key Fe=67.2 and Fb=78.6 using the two equations.
eq1: Fesin(82.9)-Fbsin(58)=0
eq2: Fecos(82.9)-Fbcos58+50=0

plugging in the angles,
0.99233 Fe - 0.84804 Fb = 0
0.12360 Fe - 0.52992 Fb = -50
50Now solve as usual using your favorite method. Substitution seems as easy as any method.

weird. You say

Fe=0.84804 Fb/0.99233 = 0.84048 Fe
But 0.84804/0.99233 = 0.85459
In any case, wolframalpha.com gets
100.71 and 117.84
