write one to two sentences explaining how the knowledge of etymology benefits readers.

please help i don't know what etymology is

Jeasus this "@MissConnexus" is everywhere. Just a big party crasher!

Miss Connexus snitch

The etymology of etymology itself is relatively straightforward. Etymon means "origin of a word" in Latin, and comes from the Greek word etymon, meaning "literal meaning of a word according to its origin." Greek etymon in turn comes from etymos, which means "true." Be careful not to confuse etymology with the similar-sounding entomology.

this @miss connexus a snitch dosnt understand that we students need help on our home work or our work shes right but she need to teach her students well more jesus....

Well unfortunately you can't change how human beings act. Of course we're going to act like this, we're children. It's also not nice to say that anyone who cheats and are lazy were probably raised to be like that are disgusting. You're disgusting for even saying that. I understand your point but it is coming off very rude. You could've said it a little bit nicer.. If you're gonna come on here to bring rude comments even though you're trying to prove a point (rudely) don't even comment. You should've stayed at your desk grading. And yes, I do understand your point.. you could've just said it a little bit nicer. Take your negative energy out of here and stop trying to ruin everything for us. If you're gonna prove a point.. SAY IT NICELY, "duh".

miss connexus its really not that serious no one is geting hurt so just shut up please

etymology itself is relatively straightforward. Etymon means "origin of a word" in Latin and comes from the Greek word etymon, meaning "literal meaning of a word according to its origin. i believe that knowing the meaning and history of words is very important because by knowing the history of a word might help a reader better understand the word

Be nice to Mrs, Connexus, she's just trying to keep us out of trouble. I'm looking this up to find examples on what to write but really @pssygoBrrr? that's really rude. I know I sound like that one girl in class rn but im just saying

Am tired of people calling us lazy you know why we cheat? Becuase school doesn’t make any fudging sense you teach stupid stuff that we won’t even need in the future. Maybe if teachers actually listened to the kids and hear what they wanna learn then we wouldn’t come here in the first place. Look I have alot of respect for school teachers but change the education system.

Don't copy word for word!!! You can be caught for plagiarism!!

**etymology can help readers understand other languages better, since it uses a lot of Latin and Greek.**

wow good answer

This miss connexus is nothing but a little liar a mere student who wishes to feel victory when you all fail she is on here for cheating herself why would she have THIS page bookmarked she is decisive if she was a teacher she would be wiser and show her name for you to know not to copy others. Mere fool!

Look at my name

@Miss connexus I know but I am trying to get a understanding of the word.

thxz

just wanna say hi to the future kids :D

Guys do not come on here to fight or talk down on people. If miss connexus wants to say that or believe that let her. You shouldn't be on here telling people to shut up or keep a conversation going about it when that teacher/student wont even see it. Why, yes I agree with yall, I do not think we should keep on saying stuff about that comment years after it was posted and just answer the question.

the teachers are right look at the hour code

Okay, I'm taking the bait. While grading my students' Unit 6 Test, I came across this site (yet again). Here's the dealio, kiddos: yes, it's not like it's a life and death thing that you're looking up answers online; it's beyond that. Here's a phrase you may or may not have heard: it's the principle of the thing. My issue with my students (or any students, in general) using sites like this is that they are learning and reinforcing the "path of least resistance" mindset. Ahhh, it's too "hard". I'll just look it up. No, I'd rather be gaming; I'll just cheat. It's the entitled "I'm not gonna do it or try unless it's stimulating and exciting and engaging and . . . " mentality that bothers me? Why? Because you guys are our future. Duh. One day, you're going to be the ones having to make hard decisions about our world, about your teachers' futures (scary!), among a thousand other things. It doesn't bode well that you can't push the discomfort and pain of having to actually read something and/or teach yourself something. Just a few seconds ago, I read, "Help, I don't know what etymology means." So, I'm thinking to myself, "What? This kid knows enough to get online, find this website, ask for help, yet he/she can't go to Google and type in: What is etymology?" C'mon. I mean, really? That's just sheer laziness. And, I'm not trying to make a judgement call on you; you probably were raised this way. So, yes, it's quite disgusting and sad to me things I read on here; the disrespect; the laziness; the apathy; the excuses. I hope some of you take this to heart because changing this about yourself can change your life. The rest of you? Get mad. Make fun of me. Make excuses. It doesn't matter to me because I don't throw my pearls before swine. (If you don't know what that phrase means, look it up.) Back to grading.

Wow! , so disappointing...

I agree with miss connexus, you should only use this website for checking work and thats if you should even use this website. I know school is hard guys but ask for help don't just cheat or plagarize, if you take the time now to learn, then in the future it'll benefit you. Even if it's hard now 👍👍

As a teacher for one of the Connections Academy schools, I have this website bookmarked. Any of my students that have this answer or a similar answer will be as plagiarism and an honor code violation. Even if you change some of the words, it is still plagiarism because you are taking someone else's ideas and using them as your own. Additionally, before every assessment you agree to the following:

For this assessment, I promise the following:
I will submit my own work.
I will not give or receive any unauthorized help.
I will abide by school policies.

This is NOT your own work, and it is considered unauthorized help.
