Before Mount Everest was discovered mount Kangchenjunga was the tallest recorded mountain in the world standing at an impressive 8585.9112 meters tall. How tall was the tallest mountain in the world from base to peak before Mount kangchenjunga was discovered, and how much taller is it than the second tallest recorded mountain currently?
