What is the present tense of Countertransference? It seems Countertransfering is not a word?

I am tying to say Jane was Countertransfering her feelings when she said......

Countertransference is a noun, so it has no tenses

"transfer" is the present tense of "to transfer" (also transfers, depending in subject/verb agreement)
prefixing "counter-" does not change that.

"Jane was countertransfering ..." is perfectly correct, as the past progressive tense.

Thank you!

The present tense of the word "countertransference" is indeed not "countertransfering." "Countertransfering" is not a recognized word in the English language.

To accurately express your sentence, you can rephrase it using the verb form of "countertransference." You could say, "Jane is experiencing countertransference when she said..." or "Jane is displaying countertransference in her feelings when she said..."

When encountering situations like this, where a specific verb form might not exist for a particular word, it is helpful to consider using alternative sentence structures or expressions to convey your intended meaning.
